From the A40, London and the North
When you reach Northleach, turn south on to the Fosseway - the A429 - which is a straight roman road. After about four miles you will go down a steep hill into Fossebridge. As the road begins to rise again, immediately after The Fossebridge Inn, look out for a right hand turn, signed Yanworth and Roman Villa. Take this right and drive half a mile until you get to a left hand turn, signed Lower Chedworth, Chedworth. Turn up the hill. When you have reached the crest of the hill, turn right before an old chapel, which is the first building on your right as you go over Chapel Hill. When you get to a tiny crossroads where straight on is a farm track, turn left down the hill. This is Pancake Hill itself. We are the last house on the left, opposite the donkey stable.
From the M4 andthe South
Take J15 off the M4 at Swindon and then follow the dual carriageway, the A417, up to Cirencester where you take the Fosseway A429, initially following signs for Burford before following signs to Northleach and Stow, which is a left at the first set of lights you encounter off the dual carriageway. Go north on the A429 until you get a left hand turn for Chedworth, Withington. Take this route, Fields Road, into the village looking for a blind bend left around a barn conversion. Immediately after this bend there is a right hand turn to take, signed Lower Chedworth, going down hill to a T junction. Here you go hard right, signed Yanworth, Stowell, continuing on down hill until you are driving round a donkey field and the road begins to rise. As it does so, look for a small hidden left hand turn. Take it. We are the first house on the right, opposite the donkey stable.
From the M5 andthe West
From M5 take junction 11a, which is signed Cirencester. This is the A417 and goes up Birdlip Hill on a dual carriageway after exiting the motorway. At the top of the hill there is The Air Balloon roundabout. Go straight on, on the A436, following signs for Cirencester and Stow-on-the-Wold. Then you pass The Seven Springs pub and at this next roundabout you go left and then immediately right to stay on the A436 (now signed Oxford A40, Stow). Once you have passed The Kilkenny Inn (all good directions should be based almost entirely on pubs!) you are looking for a right hand turn, signed Withington. Take this turn along a very straight roman road and when you get into the village of Withington itself, take the first right around the village school and then the next left to take you on to Chedworth. You will go through a thicket up a steep hill and then after a short distance you have a chance to take a left hand fork at a small grass triangle of roads. Follow this left on Fields Road into Chedworth itself, driving for several miles before reaching the other end of the village at the Farm Shop. Once you have passed the Farm Shop there is a left hand turn to take, signed Lower Chedworth, going down hill to a T junction. Here you go hard right, signed Yanworth, Stowell, continuing on down hill until you are driving round a donkey field and the road begins to rise. As it does so, look for a small hidden left hand turn. Take it. We are the first house on the right, opposite the donkey stable.
